Age Criteria

In general, CIST will strictly follow the age criteria while placing students to an appropriate grade level. Age cut-off date used in age eligibility chart is 1 September.

Under certain conditions, the school principal may accept students whose age is not within range of age eligibility chart. Such certain conditions include but are not limited to:

  • Applicant completed the Year/Grade that must be offered according to the age eligibility chart in his/her previous school.
  • Applicant did not complete the previous Year/Grade of the grade that must be offered according to the age eligibility chart.
  • Cognitive level of the applicant is over or below the required level for studying in the Year/Grade that must be offered according to the age eligibility chart.

Additionally, we may place students to a Year/Grade level for a trial period. After the trial period, the school principal will review and decide the Year/Grade level that the student will be placed in.

Appropriate ages that must be completed as of September 1 for admission to each Year/Grade is given in the chart below.
